Dear Families,
We have had a very productive start to Term 4. This is an 11-week term, making it a long period for everyone in our community. We encourage families to support the children throughout this busy term by ensuring they have important rest time on the weekends and adequate sleep each night. Please see below for sleep tips, as sleep is extremely important in supporting learning.
Thank you to the families who have adjusted their morning routines to accommodate the ongoing roadworks impacting our mornings. It is very important that children arrive at school by 8:50 am at the latest. The roadworks are expected to conclude in two weeks, after which we hope to return to normal traffic flow.
I would like to remind families to inform the office if you are collecting your children early so we can have them ready for you. Schools are busy places, and it can take time to locate a class, especially if students are in specialist classes or other areas. If you call the school as you make your way to school, we can ensure your child is ready for collection. Please also note that collecting during break times can be challenging, as children may not hear PA announcements and buildings are locked, preventing bag collection. If you need to pick up your children, please try to work around Play 1 (12:10 pm – 12:50 pm) and Play 2 (1:50 pm – 2:30 pm).
This week, many families participated in Student Support Group meetings (SSGs). We appreciate those who took the time to work with us in supporting your child’s growth. Thank you also to the teachers and Allied Health staff who attended these meetings and contributed to creating and implementing Individual Education Plans for our learners.
Thank you to the SCA for their work on the final day of last term with our Footy/Sports Day. On this day, we raised $1,165 for the school. The SCA will be using some of this money to purchase a shade tent for sports and school events, featuring our name and logo. At their next meeting, they will also decide on other areas to allocate the funds they raised. Well done, and thank you, SCA!
Major events for families to be aware of in Term 4 include:
