Year 7

TERM 3 CONTINUES
As Term 3 continues, it has been wonderful to see our Year 7 students growing in confidence and embracing College life with enthusiasm and maturity.
Since our last newsletter earlier this term, several key events have taken place. Most recently, our Year 7 cohort undertook their immunisations — a significant step in their wellbeing journey. The process ran smoothly, and we were incredibly proud of the students for their resilience and maturity throughout. Many thanks to the staff for supporting our Year 7 students, and to Mrs Rogers for coordinating us all across the two-day process.
Year 7 students in Magdeburg House enjoyed participating in their very first House Day, celebrating with activities that fostered a strong sense of belonging and pride within their House community. The College also marked Book Week, St Norbert College style — a vibrant and engaging celebration of reading and storytelling. In addition, College Photographs have now been completed, capturing memories and milestones of our students’ first year of secondary school.
We are also pleased to acknowledge the many talented Year 7 students who have proudly represented St Norbert College in the Catholic Performing Arts Festival this term. Whether performing as musicians, dancers, or singers, their creativity and commitment have been exceptional. We are very proud of each and every one of them.
Looking ahead to the remainder of the term, we extend our best wishes to the Year 7 students taking part in the upcoming Tournament of Minds competition as part of our Academic Excellence Program. Their preparation and teamwork have been outstanding, and we look forward to seeing their efforts come to life. Thank you to Mrs Cardenia, Ms Gillham, Mrs Gray and Mr Levy for your dedication in preparing our students to compete in this amazing program.
Homework Club remains available for students, providing ongoing academic support, while our popular Year 7 Games Club continues to run on Tuesdays at recess and Thursdays at lunch — offering a great space for students to socialise and connect.
As we look further ahead, preparations are already underway to welcome our incoming Year 7 students for 2026. We invite all enrolled students and their families to attend our Information Evening on Thursday 11 September 2025. Please arrive by 5:45pm to meet members of our Pastoral Care Team and some of our current Year 7 students, with the formal session beginning at 6:00pm.
Another important date for our 2026 families is Placement Testing on Thursday 18 September. We ask that students arrive by 3:45pm for a 4:00pm start.
Thank you once again for your continued support of our Year 7 students. It remains a privilege to walk alongside them during this formative year.
Mrs T La Vanda
