CAREERS & VET INFORMATION

Years 10 and 11 Students

Students who selected a Vocational Pathway for 2026 – Your TAFE and Workplace Learning applications are due URGENTLY.  North and South Metro TAFE have already closed, however, some of the private training providers will still accept late applications. Please speak to Mrs Gonsalves in the Careers Centre urgently regarding any late applications.

 

Workplace Learning Applications should be completed no later than Week 3.8.

For any student who selected Career and Enterprise, you were sent a Direqt Message by Mrs Stirling in Week 3.5, which contained the link to complete your Workplace Learning Application.  If you have any questions, please visit the WorkPrep Office in Cappenburg.

 

External TAFE Courses

  • Year 10 students received an information pack at their Subject Selection Meetings at the start of term – spare copies are available from the Careers Centre. This provided details about how to apply for relevant TAFE courses.

Year 12 Students

It has been lovely to start meeting with Year 12 students to hear about their post-school plans. All Year 12 students will participate in a Transition Planning meeting at the Careers Centre over the coming weeks. Individual appointment times were sent out to students via Email and Direqt Message.

 

 

Full-time TAFE Applications

Any student in Years 10, 11 or 12 who is considering attending TAFE fulltime in 2026 should now apply via the TAFE admissions website. Please note, this is an alternative to high school and is NOT part of the VET in Schools program.

Year 10 Students Take on the $20 Boss Business Challenge 

This term, our Year 10 Business Management and Enterprise students have put their creativity and entrepreneurial skills to the test through the $20 Boss Business Project. Each student worked in teams to design, develop, and run their own small business stall at the College. 

The project encouraged students to think innovatively, work collaboratively, and experience the real challenges and rewards of running a business. From brainstorming ideas, sourcing materials, and managing finances, to marketing their products and engaging with customers, students gained valuable hands-on experience in what it takes to turn an idea into a reality. 

 

The highlight of the project was the business stall showcase, where students proudly presented and sold their products to the school community. The stalls were a fantastic display of creativity and hard work, and it was wonderful to see the enthusiasm and teamwork shine through
