International Chemistry Quiz 2025
This term, our aspiring young chemists proudly represented St Norbert College in the prestigious International Chemical Quiz (ICQ), an annual event designed to challenge and inspire students from around the globe. Organised by the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI), the ICQ is a rigorous competition that assesses participants on their knowledge of chemistry and its applications in real-world scenarios.
Our students embraced the opportunity to expand and test their understanding of chemical principles, problem-solving, and critical thinking. With participants including all Years 11 and 12 Chemistry students, the ICQ brought together science enthusiasts eager to demonstrate their growing skills in this fascinating subject.
The quiz consisted of multiple-choice questions, each tailored to the students' respective year levels. These questions explored topics such as chemical reactions, the periodic table, and the role of chemistry in environmental sustainability. For senior students, the challenge extended to applying their knowledge to complex, real-life chemical scenarios.
This year we are thrilled to announce that several St Norbert College students achieved outstanding results, earning credits and distinctions – a testament to their hard work and dedication. Beyond the accolades, every participant has gained valuable experience, enriched their learning, and fostered a deeper appreciation for the pivotal role of chemistry in shaping our world.

Participating in the ICQ not only underscores our students’ enthusiasm for science, but also aligns with St Norbert College’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic education. We are confident that this experience will inspire even greater participation in the coming years, as more students discover the joy of scientific discovery and the thrill of academic competition.
Congratulations to all our participants for their hard work and achievements! Your passion for learning and chemistry is a credit to yourselves and our College. Keep up the excellent work, and may your curiosity continue to spark new discoveries.
