Leadership Report

End of Term 3 – Thank You to Everyone!

I promise this will be short and sweet!

As Term 3 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to thank our incredible school community for your continued support and involvement. It’s been a huge and exciting term, full of learning, creativity, and celebration.

Our students have thrived from the classroom to the stage, the sports field, and beyond. Highlights included the Athletics Carnival (both at Newlands and district level), the Read-A-Thon, Science Week, and of course, the much-loved Book Week and Book Parade! Our teachers are incredibly proud of the academic progress students have made, and a big congratulations to all of our students for making Newlands such a vibrant and joyous place to be every day.

Our staff have worked tirelessly to create rich and meaningful learning experiences. From leading NAIDOC and Cultural Week activities, supporting students' social, emotional and academic needs, and running a wide range of lunchtime clubs,  their commitment has been extraordinary. They also prepared over 40 students for the Boite Chorus at the Town Hall and another 25 for the State School Spectacular at John Cain Arena. Add in camps, excursions, sleepovers, and special activity days, it’s been a massive effort. Other highlights included celebrating 100 days of school with our Foundation students, our 2026 Foundation Transition Sessions, Father’s Day Breakfast, Wear It Purple Day, Footy Colours Day, and today’s World’s Greatest Shave!

Special events like our Spanish Salsa Evening and Cultural Morning Teas brought families together in such joyful ways. A big thank you to our amazing PFA for once again putting on a brilliant Comedy Gala, truly one of the standout events of the year.

It’s been a monster of a term! Enjoy a well-earned break with your families, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back for Term 4.

Before we sign off, we’d like to wish Jose the very best of luck as he heads off to Europe in Term 4 to honeymoon with his incredible partner, Nat! We wish them both an amazing adventure and can’t wait to welcome them back in January.

Thanks,

Luke
