Tasting Light: ten science fiction stories to rewire your perceptions

Edited by A.R. Capetta & Wade Roush

Tasting Light is a collection of 10 short stories by different authors. Most are written about teenagers and have a science fiction or futuristic theme.

The stories here are extremely diverse – some explore a distant future where humans live on city-like colonies in space, but most take place on Earth in the near-future, where dramatic changes in a technology have drastic consequences on human life. You might think that technological advancement would take center stage, but they are very human in nature. Friendship, love, the longing for connection, and the thirst for knowledge, are strong themes in all of these stories. There is also strong gender diversity represented in many of these stories.

Tasting Light is truly a mixed bag – you may not like every single story, but you may find some that you love, and it may open up your mind in ways you never expected!
