Supporting Teenagers During Final Exams – Key Points for Parents

  1. Create a Calm Environment
    • A peaceful home supports student focus and reduces stress.
  2. Prioritise Wellbeing
    • Ensure regular sleep, a balanced diet, daily exercise, and emotional support.
    • Please remind your child that final marks do not define their future success.
  3. Monitor Mental Health
    • Watch for signs of anxiety or depression; mental wellbeing is just as important as physical health.
  4. Encourage Smart Study Habits
    • Practice exams are crucial—focus on difficult areas and seek teacher feedback.
  5. Let Them Learn from Experience
    • Don’t panic if study time seems insufficient. Some teens need to learn from natural consequences.
    • A poor result is not a disaster—more an obstacle that can be overcome.
