Principal's Message

Wawa, Wominjika.
Here at Old Orchard Primary School, we acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land we visit each day, the Wurrunguri and Woiwurrung people of the Kulin nation. We acknowledge and respect the elders and leaders past and present and the elders and leaders of all of the cultures and nationalities that are part of the Old Orchard Primary School community. We express our gratitude towards the orchards that were kept in place by the peoples on this land before us.We thank the traditional owners for sharing this beautiful land that we all love, and for keeping the land, sky, waterways and animals all in great condition for thousands of years, not only for themselves but for all the generations to come.
Prep Information Session
On Wednesday evening, our Prep parents & carers attended the Prep Information Session where the Prep teaching team shared information about the Prep program, how parents can assist at home and a range of other information. The session was very well attended and it was great to see the parents & carers mingling and getting to know each other. Thanks to Beth Fletcher, Nan Ternai and Milly Bridges who did a great job presenting, Jen McCann and Clare Murray for their support and Fiona Kirby and Sheree Knight for their catering expertise.
Year 6 Camp
Best wishes to our Year 6 students and staff who will be heading off to Camp Coonawarra (near Bairnsdale) on Monday morning. School camps are a very important component of the extracurricular program at Old Orchard and provide wonderful opportunities for students to challenge themselves in a new environment and to experience a variety of different activities. Thanks in advance to the staff and parent volunteers whose commitment and attendance makes the camp possible.

Peer Mediators are provided with formal training andsupported by staff from the Year 5 & 6 team. The 2025 peer mediators will be presented with their badges at assembly tomorrow afternoon.
