Look what's happening in Year 1 & 2!

Maths - Number Patterns and Place Value 

Students have been focusing on number patterns and place value through a variety of hands-on activities. They have worked with partners, playing engaging games and completing individual tasks to strengthen their understanding of number relationships. Using MAB blocks, students have also practiced partitioning numbers into their place value (hundreds, tens and ones). 

Writing - Narrative Planning 

Students have been drawing inspiration from mentor texts by the author Oliver Jeffers to enhance their storytelling skills. They have developed plans using story elements, such as character, setting, and plot to prepare for crafting their own narratives. A graphic organiser has assisted students to organise their ideas and build a strong foundation for their creative writing.
