Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families,
Parent Teacher Interviews
I am delighted to see such a great turnout at the Parent-Teacher "Getting to Know You" Interviews on February 11th and 12th. Thank you for taking the time to meet with your child’s teacher(s) and for sharing your hopes and aspirations for your child, as well as introducing yourself. I know our Maramba staff deeply valued these positive and meaningful interactions. These meetings strengthen the connection between home and school, and we are committed to fostering family engagement as a key element in supporting the growth of all our students.
Please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher at any time if you wish to schedule another meeting or if you have any questions or concerns. Together, we can continue to create a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone. I am confident that we can continue to work together in making your child's education a successful experience for all.

These students have a commitment to their school community, and a passion for making a positive difference. As leaders, they will work collaboratively with their peers and teachers to plan and implement activities, events and initiatives that will benefit not only Maramba but also the wider community. We look forward to working alongside them and offering our support throughout their leadership journey.
I would also like to extend our sincere thanks to all students who applied for leadership positions. We were truly impressed by the quality of the applications and the enthusiasm demonstrated by all applicants.
We will have a special badge presentation for our 2025 leaders on Friday, 21st March at 9:00am. Our local member, MP Belinda Wilson will be attendance to present the badges.
Wellbeing
As part of Wellbeing at Maramba Primary School, the students have begun lessons of the program Respectful Relationships. This program is mandated by the Victorian government and is delivered as a ‘whole school’ approach, targeted specifically at a ‘year level’ basis.
To begin we are focusing on the topic of ‘Emotional Literacy’ based around identifying various emotions in ourselves and others, the various times we have felt these emotions and strategies we can use to move between different emotions, e.g. moving from being tired to feeling calm and ready for learning.
You will notice some classes using strategies such as belly breathing, meditating and following a read a long story to adjust how we are feeling.
Am I being bullied?
At Maramba Primary School, we take bullying very seriously.
Our goal is for all students to feel happy, safe, and supported.
Bullying involves intentional and repeated negative behaviour towards another person.
We encourage you to talk to your child about what bullying is and remind them to always approach the yard duty teacher if an issue arises outside, or to inform their classroom teacher.
Whole School Photos
Whole school photos will take place on Wednesday, February 26th. Please ensure your child comes to school in the correct summer uniform.
Your child should have received their order form from their classroom teacher on Thursday, February 13th. If you did not receive an order form, please contact your child's classroom teacher or visit the office.
Lunch time Clubs
We are excited to announce that lunchtime clubs will be starting at Maramba Primary School next week. This term, our lunchtime clubs include:
If you have any items you would like to donate to these clubs, please bring them to the office.
Toilets Refurbishment
Our gym toilets have been completely renovated, and the vibrant new facilities are now open for student use. The vision was to have toilets that represent the excellence, high expectations and innovative thinking we associate with our day to day practices at Maramba Primary School. From the carefully selected colour palette to the thoughtful design, our goal was to provide an environment that inspires pride, while remaining within budget.
I would like to express my gratitude to the Victorian School Building Authority for their grant, and to our amazing Maramba community for their fundraising efforts—$25,000 of which contributed to this upgrade. If you're interested in touring the new facilities, please feel free to reach out to me!
