PE

 Hi Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome to Term 1, 2025! I hope you all enjoyed the summer break and created many wonderful memories with your loved ones. To new parents and caregivers, welcome! My name is Jade, and I am the Physical Education teacher at HVS.

In Term 1, PE will provide students with the opportunity to connect with new classmates, build friendships, and ease the transition back into school routines. To support this, students have been given some autonomy over the activities they’ve engaged in over the past few weeks, fostering re-engagement with physical activity, promoting the enjoyment of movement, and amplifying student voice.

This term, students will participate in a variety of activities, sports, and games that will help them develop fundamental movement skills, spatial awareness, and the ability to collaborate with others. Gross motor skills - the coordinated movement of large muscle groups, such as those used in walking, running, and jumping - will be explored throughout the term, alongside sport skills related to tennis, hockey, and cricket. In these sessions, students will develop skills that foster engagement in physical activity, supporting their overall health and well-being.

I’m looking forward to another great year of PE, getting to know all the new students, and supporting returning students on their health and physical education journey.

Kind regards,

Jade
