From the Acting Principal

This term is flying by—it’s hard to believe we’re already at the end of Week 4! Starting next Monday 3rd March, our Foundation students will begin full weeks of school. We’re thrilled to have 19 new Preps this year and have enjoyed seeing them settle into routines, build friendships, and explore their new learning environment.

Annual Implementation Plan

Our 2025 Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) has been endorsed by our Senior Education Improvement Leader, Robyn Marr. It outlines our key goals and priorities for the year ahead and marks the first year of our new four-year strategic plan—an exciting step forward for our school.

Strategic Plan Goals:

  • Goal 1: Improve student learning growth
  • Goal 2: Enhance student independence and wellbeing

This year, much of our focus will be on preparing for the updates to the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model, the revised Victorian Curriculum Foundation Levels A–D, and the introduction of mandated phonics programs. Additionally, we are developing a Senior Secondary Program aimed at building work and life skills to support smoother transitions into post-school pathways.

The election process for the 2025 School Council is now underway, with two parent vacancies available for a two-year term.

Joining the School Council is a great way to stay involved in your child’s school, connect with other parents, and contribute to school life. It’s an opportunity to share ideas, support school activities, and stay informed. No special skills are needed—just an interest in making the school the best it can be for students, families, and staff.

If you’re interested or have any questions, feel free to reach out to me or speak with one of our current School Council parent members

Staff Recruitment

We have been busy recruiting to fill some of the gaps in our workforce profile. I’m hoping that we can announce several new team members very shortly.

Term One Student Support Group (SSG) meetings will begin next week. These meetings are a valuable opportunity to connect with your child’s classroom staff and share important information to support their learning.

Bookings are now open on Compass. If you need assistance with booking or require translation services, please contact us. Your child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) will be developed based on the goals discussed and provided to you at the end of the term.

Welcome Celebration – Friday 7th March

We’re excited to invite our school community to a Welcome Celebration on Friday 7th March from 1:30 – 3:00 pm. This is a great opportunity for parents and carers to come together, connect, and celebrate the start of the new school year.

To accommodate the event, lunch and break times will be adjusted, so students will have already eaten in their classrooms before it begins. There’s no need to bring food on the day.

Variety Club Breakfast

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated food, raffle prizes, or their time to support our Variety Club Breakfast—your generosity is greatly appreciated!

Food Donations: If you’re providing fresh food items, please deliver them to the school on Thursday morning Feb 27th. This gives us time to check what’s still needed and make a supermarket run if required. If you can no longer provide a donation, that’s fine—just let us know before Thursday so we can adjust our shopping list.

Raffle Donations: Hamper items for the raffle can be dropped off at the school anytime.

Volunteers Needed: We still need a few extra hands to help during the breakfast. We understand it’s a busy time of day, but if you’re able to assist, we’d love to have you—please let us know if you’re available.

Event Details: Participants will arrive by 7:45 am, enjoy breakfast, and attend a meeting before departing from the car park across the road at 9:00 am. They’ve been asked not to park in the parallel spaces opposite the school, but please be aware there will be increased traffic during school drop-off, and some guests may still be onsite when you arrive.

Thank you again for your support—we couldn’t do it without you!
