Learning & Teaching

In Prep, the students have been writing "Lift the flap books". They have been inspired by the Dear Zoo Book to create their own piece of work. Check out some of these amazing young writers we have in Prep. Students have been focusing on creating suspense within a text, using capital letters, punctuation and making reasonable spelling attempts.

The Juniors over the past fortnight have been carrying out the role of Designer. They have created plans for their designs and now are moving in the designing and testing phase. There are many creations in progress at the moment ranging from box construction, mini models and digital recordings. These extended projects will continue on into next term. Sustained play, curious minds, resilient learners and above all creative characters are hard at work in the Juniors this term.

Our marvelous Middles are the most industrious set of Mathematicians across the school at the moment. They are extending their thinking, working through challenges that have them right in the learning pit at the moment. Their growth mindset towards all aspects of Multiplication and Division is proving to be a standout strength of these young learners. Majority of these learners are asking for more Maths work each day! Keep it up Middles!

In the Super Seniors, have you checked out the amazing Geography and Science work they have on display in our school foyer? If not, there is a post on our Instagram and Facebook page showcasing some of the wonderful end results of their learning. The senior students were exploring concepts of change, impact and sustainability in the context of natural and manmade disasters. They investigated the impact various disasters have on our lives. The student work shows their high level of understanding of change, impact and future sustainable ways to keep our world safe from harm.

Religious Education Update

Eucharist celebrations

Over the last two weekends our Year 4 students have celebrated the Sacrament of Eucharist for the first time. This was led by Fr. Denis and Fr Robert who shared the experience of the Liturgy of the Eucharist with the students around the altar. We pray that the students reflect on how they can 'Go and Serve the Lord' in their homes, school and community.

Tennis

The senior tennis teams hit the Macedon tennis courts last Friday, for the Macedon Ranges District Hot Shots Tennis Tournament. Students played both singles and doubles matches throughout the day. Our students represented the school brilliantly, demonstrating exemplary sportsmanship.  Well done to the girls' team who finished 3rd overall.  Thank you to the parents who helped transport our tennis stars to their competition after there was a last-minute change of venue.
