FROM YOUR CAREERS TEAM

Parents, We need your help to showcase careers and inspire our students!

Our school is taking part in Independent Schools Victoria’s Career Allsorts program.

Adapted from Drawing the Future report, this program aims to expose students to different jobs and to broaden their horizons. We want to challenge gender stereotypes from a young age, give students greater access to different career role models and open up possibilities for students. It is not about students deciding on a career.

We would like to invite you to present to Year 3 students in Term 4 a short (5 - 10 minute) overview of your career to help students learn about a variety of jobs. You will then be invited to be part of a panel to answer student questions. Further details will be provided once we have confirmed speakers.

Following the presentations, students will draw or paint a picture of a job they would like to do when they are older. The school will submit student artwork to be included at the ISV Career Allsorts exhibition to be held in March 2024.

We hope you are willing to be part of this event and share insights about your career with students. If you would like to take part, please email Chauntelle Wolfaardt from our Careers Team at pathways@bhcs.vic.edu.au.

Thank you in advance for your participation!!
