WE WANT OUR PARENTS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!

Recently we sent home an email to families inviting them to participate in the 2023 Christian Schools Community Profile.

This is the only national survey of its kind that is specifically designed for Christian school communities and seeks to gather key information regarding the perceptions, levels of satisfaction and priorities of Christian school families as well as their demographic profiles and the way families engage, support and interact with their local Christian school communities. It will be conducted amongst all families with children enrolled in participating Christian schools.

We would like to encourage all families to complete this important survey. The survey will be conducted online and willonly takes 15-20 minutes to complete.  The survey can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

All responses to the survey are anonymous and confidential. The survey will be conducted from Tuesday, 5 September to Friday 22 September 2023.

Thank you for your valued input into our Christian school community and Christian schooling across Australia!

ROAD UPGRADES ARE COMING - MT MORTON ROAD & ENTRANCE TO BHCS

After much negotiating with the Yarra Ranges Council, they have agreed to undertake works on the public roads leading into the entrance of BHCS.

As you may be aware, both Mt Morton Road and Wattle Valley Road (the ‘driveway’ into the school), are both public roads and are the responsibility of the local council. Due to the complaints they have received from the School, our families, and neighbours, the Council has finally agreed to undertake some upgrades and propose installing a formal slip lane leading into Wattle Valley Road and also adding a shoulder along Mt Morton Road which will enable traffic to continue to flow. Please see the attached plan for more details.

This type of project would generally need to go to Council and wait until a budget is allocated, which could take years. So to expedite the project, Council has agreed to undertake the work and BHCS has agreed to cover the cost.

We have also requested an upgrade to the crossing that Council installed on Wattle Valley Road earlier this year, to be a zebra crossing and we have also asked for a supervised crossing for Mt Morton Road, to make it safer for our students to cross. However, we have not yet heard back from council regarding these requests.

At this stage, Council is trying to arrange contractors to undertake the work over the coming September holidays but failing this, they assure us that the upgrade will be complete before the commencement of Term 1, 2024.

Thank you to our families who contacted the local Council to raise concerns. Working together, we can achieve a lot. Thank you!
