Gardening Cooking Club

On Friday students from Gardening Cooking Club made orange syrup cakes with oranges from our vegie garden. They worked together to read a recipe, measure all the ingredients and clean up! If you would like to make these delicious cakes the recipe is below.

Orange Syrup Muffins

2 1/2 cups self-raising flour

3/4 cup caster sugar

1 egg

1/2 cup vegetable oil

3/4 cup orange juice

Zest the peel of 3 oranges

Collect all ingredients and place them in a mixing bowl. Mix together.

Share  mixture  evenly between 12 muffin pans. Cook in a moderate oven for approximately 12 minutes. 

While the muffins are cooking mix together the juice of 2 extra oranges with 1/2 a cup of sugar in a saucepan. Stir over a high heat until syrupy. When muffins are cooked pour syrup over the muffins. Allow to cool and enjoy.
