F/1/2 News

The F/1/2 students have learnt a lot this term.

They had an amazing time at swimming lessons. It was great to see all the students' confidence grow as the week went on. They developed a lot of swimming and life saving skills. At school we backed up the learning at the pool by completing water safety activities and focusing on how to stay safe around different bodies of water.

In Subject Focus, we have continued learning about digital technologies. We have changed our focus from identifying digital systems to understanding what makes a digital system. We have been learning about software and hardware, and the students have practised telling the difference. One of the learning tasks has involved the students tracing and labelling the basic internal and external parts of a laptop.

This week in Maths we are focusing on fractions. The students will be learning to define half as two equal parts and start making the connections between halves, quarters and eights.

The students are also continuing to learn about oral health and will focus on how we brush and floss our teeth effectively.

Today the students enjoyed participating in the launch of the 169-Storey Treehouse book. The students got a sneak peak into the plot of the book and designed their own level of the treehouse.

                              Grade 3/4 News

            This fortnight in the grade 3/4 room we have been busy getting our ERP’s ready for our Expo on Thursday. We have been learning about technology and can’t wait to share what we have learnt with our parents and friends. 

We enjoyed our first visit with the transition preps for 2024. Taya, Tannah and Lil enjoyed playing chasey with them. 

We were exhausted after our swimming program last week. We have learnt some new safety skills and brushed up on our swimming techniques. We finished off on Friday with some fun playing what’s the time Mr wolf and other fun activities.
