Student Voice : Heights Campus

These few weeks have been quite busy! Week 6 was Book Week. Everyone in the school dressed as their favourite book character. There were also some fantastic book displays which brought out the best of their respective books but only a few classes could win. Even though there were classes that didn’t win, everyone had fun in creating a door display and they all shined with brilliancy.

During Book Week we had a surprise guest Kirsty Murray. She’s an author of many wonderful books. The SLC have been reading one of her books called "Strangers on Country". At the end of her appearance we even got her to sign our books! Everyone had a blast listening to the behind-the-scenes stories of an author.

On the 31st of August the MLC will be going to Polly Woodside and having a look at the archived ship. They’ve even created a whole area of their classroom dedicated to it. The MLC created 3D recreations of the ship. We really hope the MLC enjoyed their excursion at Polly Woodside!

Yesterday, on the 30th of August, the FLC had a special Father’s Day morning where the dads and other special freinds or family came to our school and had some morning tea. They also watched the students do activities and also got to learn about what they do during school. The FLC had so much fun being with their special person.

The SLC are also going to have a trip to the MCG in Richmond next Tuesday, on the 5th of September. We’re going to learn about the Australian Sports Museum. The MCG stands for Melbourne Cricket Ground. We will be learning about the history of sport in Australia. They will also be taking a train to get there instead of a bus. A new exciting piece of transportation but before we can use this we have to learn about train etiquette. On Tuesday, the 29th of August, we learnt about train safety and laws.

Have a lovely week!
