Doing our Best in PLC1/2
Everyone in PLC1&2 has been enjoying the beautiful new classroom that is so spacious, light and has a lovely display board. We are busy bees in the Red Room focusing on communication skills, literacy, numeracy, physical development and personal/social well-being. Our day includes group and individual activities with expert therapy input and specialist classes in Art and Music.
We have a book of the week that is our literacy focus, and all of our students are encouraged to use their different methods of communicating to discuss the story and give an opinion. Our book of the week was called The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. The story was about a little girl who thought she couldn’t draw but she found out that anyone can draw, and dots can make wonderful pictures. The students in PLC1&2 discussed things they like doing and had a go at describing themselves through PODD. The introductory sentence was ‘I think I am…. Each student selected a picture word symbol to end the sentence.
We have also welcomed our newest member to our class Noah, and we are all enjoying his interesting questions and his knowledge about dinosaurs. Noah has been doing his best at Belmore school and we are all very proud of his efforts.
