Week 5 Greeting

What a stunning week of weather we've had here at school! The sunshine has certainly lifted everyone's spirits, and it's been wonderful to see students enjoying some warmth in the afternoons. That said, the mornings are still bringing a sharp chill to the air, so we encourage everyone to continue dressing in layers to stay comfortable throughout the day. With the biggest week of the year just around the corner, it's more important than ever to look after ourselves and each other. Let’s stay healthy, well-rested, and ready for what’s to come! 今週になりさらに暖かい日が増えてきましたが、皆様いかがお過ごしでしょうか。天候が良くなってくると、放課後に校庭に残って遊んでいる生徒の数も増え、そんな彼らの元気な姿からはエネルギーを感じますね。それでもまだまだ朝は寒いですので、ジャケットなど脱ぎ着のできるものを常用して、風邪などをひかないように調整しながら春まで乗り切りましょう。

Hat

A gentle reminder that as part of our Sun Protection policy, all students are required to wear a broad-brim hat when outside. This applies to all outdoor activities, including recess, lunch, and PE lessons. Students who forget their hats will be asked to stay under the covered area around the weatherboard building and unfortunately will not be permitted to play in the playground—even under the shade sails. Please help us by ensuring your child has their hat packed and ready each day.　８月１５日より帽子の着用が必須となっておりますので、今一度ご確認ください。帽子の着用は、休み時間、体育の時間を含むすべての屋外活動の際に必要となります。帽子を学校に持ってきていない生徒は、休み時間特定のエリアに座っていないといけなくなります。帽子無着用の場合は、校庭に設置されているシェイドの下ですら遊ぶことができませんので、ご了承ください。

School starting time

Please be reminded that there is no staff on duty before 8:45am. Please ensure that your child is supervised by an adult if they are in the school ground before this time. 教職員の校庭の見回りは毎朝８時４５分から始まります。この時間以前に学校に到着される場合は、必ず付き添いの大人の方がお子様と一緒にいるようにしてください。

Snapshots from the Classroom – Special Edition

This week’s edition brings a special spotlight on two incredible events that have added so much joy and excitement to our school.今週の『教室からの風景』は番外編です！

First, our School Production Rehearsal! On Wednesday, the entire school came together for a full run-through of our upcoming production, and the atmosphere was absolutely electric! The energy flowing through the classrooms, corridors, and stage areas was infectious. Students, teachers, and our amazing parent helpers all worked together in the most inspiring way. It was a truly magical moment, and a beautiful reminder of what can be achieved through teamwork and creativity.今週水曜日に、プロダクションの全校リハーサルがありました。教室、廊下、ホール、学校の至る場所に溢れかえるエネルギーに鳥肌が立つほどでした！生徒たち、教職員スタッフ、そして保護者ボランティアのみんなが力を合わせて乗り切った初回のリハーサルでした。本番までに全校リハーサルはあと２回あります。みんなで頑張りましょう。

We also welcomed staff from Japan Airlines for a very special incursion with our Year 1/2 students. The children had an unforgettable experience using familiar Japanese phrases to communicate with real JAL staff, trying on kid-sized pilot and cabin crew uniforms, and even learning how to make paper airplanes—taught by a certified origami instructor! We were incredibly fortunate to have so many JAL staff members visit and create such a memorable, hands-on learning opportunity for our students.先週の金曜日には、日本航空のメルボルン支社のスタッフをお迎えして、１・２年生がインカージョンに参加しました。知っているフレーズや言葉を使ってスタッフの方々とコミュニケーションを取ったり、子供用の搭乗アテンダント、パイロットの服をきたり、折り紙の指導資格を持ったスタッフの方に紙飛行機の折り方を教えていただきました。とても楽しいひと時となったようです！
