Mural Update

We are excited to share some wonderful news – this year, our school will be creating a community mural that celebrates our amazing school.

We have partnered with Stephanie Cartledge, a talented local artist, who will work alongside our students to dream, design, and bring the mural to life. In Term 4, Stephanie will join us to paint the mural together, turning our shared ideas into a vibrant artwork for everyone to enjoy.

The design process will begin with two powerful questions, drawn from Engoori, an Indigenous process for building understanding and connection:

  • Who are we?
  • What keeps us strong?

We are hoping that families could assist our students thoughts by having a conversation about the above at home. This could start with reference to your families and then ask the same questions about our school.

At school during Art sessions, our students will reflect on these questions with Dee and Stephanie, sharing their voices, stories, and hopes for the future. These ideas will inspire the mural’s imagery, ensuring it truly belongs to our community.

We believe this project will not only brighten our space, but also deepen our sense of identity, unity, and pride. We can’t wait to see our creativity and culture come alive on the wall – and we look forward to celebrating this achievement together.

If you have any questions about the mural project, please let us know at school.
