Wellbeing leaders

(Lavinia, Ethan and Anakin)

The Wellbeing Leaders have had new books kindly donated to the Zen Zone by Miss Kat. Now there are books so the students can read in the Zen Zone. People can come down to the Zen Zone at first and second break and enjoy reading the new books. There are also colouring books that everyone is welcome to use and draw. There aren't many people in the Zen Zone lately because it has been very cold and they need to move to get warm. Luckily the weather is warming up! Hope to see you soon. A special thanks to Miss Tovey and the Year 3 students who will pack up the Zen Zone for us on a Monday when we are on the Specialist Campus.

This term the Sustainability Leaders have been working on doing Nude Food Friday. Next week we are planning to call it “Wrapper Free Wednesday.” Which will mean “Nude Food Friday” will be on a Wednesday from now on. Just a reminder “Wrapper Free Wednesday” means no wrappers in lunch boxes.

Faith and Social Justice Leaders

(Olivia, Zoey, Anna and Isaac)

Last week, we organised a Bible Scripture Hunt for all the Preps, Year 1s and their buddies. We went across the road to Alma park and hid 15 scriptures from the New Testament about Mary, the mother of Jesus, because last Friday was the Feast of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It was very successful and we hoped that if your children participated that they enjoyed it, we did!

Curriculum Leaders

(Samuel, Sienna, Amy, Allegra and Grace)

This week from the 18th of August to the 21st it's book week. Before and after school we have the book fair, students can bring their parents in and buy books. We have been very busy hosting a ‘Design a Book Mark Competition’ where students at can come down to the Zen Zone and create a Book Mark. One book mark from each class will be chosen as the winner. The winning designs will be printed and laminated and added to Miss Kat’s Special Book Mark jar in the Library for all students to use!

Today is the Book Week Celebration Day and begins with the costume parade. We encouraged students to dress up as their favourite book characters and show it off in the parade and they all looked FABULOUS!

This term, we have been taught by the St. Kilda Baseball club to play tee ball. Mr Millane invited them to come to our school and hit some balls on the tee. We have been selected to join their club. We have been playing with them for 2 weeks, during our PE time. We enjoy playing with them and we hope that they visit us again. We also have been training for the Holt Athletics which are coming up on 29/08/25.
