Kindergarten Speech Screening - Thursday 7 -Friday 8 August 2025
Speech and Language screenings for our Kindergarten students will take place on Thursday 7 and Friday 8 August, 2025. A Speech and Language therapist will conduct brief assessments during school hours to help identify any areas needing further support.
If parents do not want their daughter screened, please opt out by completing THIS FORM.
The cost of this assessment is covered in the school levy.
Parents will be contacted if follow-up is recommended.
Year 6 Write a Book in a Day Competition - Friday 8 August 2025
Write a Book in a Day is an exciting co-educational opportunity which involves teams of students in Year 6 from Kambala and The Scots College collaborating to write and illustrate a book in one day. The Write a Book in a Day organisation collaborates with The Kids’ Cancer Project, an independent national charity, to raise funds for childhood cancer research. Students will have the opportunity to raise funds for The Kids’ Cancer Project.

Date: Friday 8 August
Time: 7:45am - 3:45pm
Students will be dismissed at 3:45pm for Tivoli carline, buses or extra-curricular activities.
What to bring:
Recess and lunch, including snacks and water (there is no access to the canteen on this day)
Charged laptop and pencil case with coloured pencils
Students are to wear full winter uniform including Panama hat for break times, blazers, yellow ribbons and polished black school shoes

Year 4 Music Recital - Tuesday 12 August 2025 - Music Performance Theatre - 7.30am

- Time: 7:30am (performing students to arrive by 7:15am)
- Venue: Music Centre Performance Theatre, Kambala
- Dress: Full school winter uniform
This morning recital provides a valuable opportunity for Year 4 students to perform in a warm and supportive setting that encourages musical confidence, presentation skills, and concert etiquette. Families and friends are warmly invited to attend, and all performers are kindly requested to remain for the entire duration of the recital.
Personal and Pubertal Development Parent Information Session with Ms Judith Krause - Evening of Wednesday 13 August 2025
Parents of students in Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 are invited to attend an online information session with Judith Krause. These sessions will allow you the opportunity to understand what is being covered in your daughter's personal and pubertal development lessons and how to foster positive conversations on these topics with your daughter.

Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 students will participate in classroom workshops with Ms Krause on Friday 15 August, Monday 18 August and Tuesday 19th August. Year 4 Excursion - Eucalypt Forest at Field of Mars Reserve - Thursday 14 August 2025
On Thursday 14 August, 2025 an excursion to the Eucalypt Forest at the Field of Mars Reserve has been organised for students in Year 4. Students will embark on a bushwalk through the forest, looking at evidence of animals and their interconnection with the environment. Fieldwork tools will include sensory observation, invertebrate hunts and recording through sketching, mapping, watercolour and tallies in a take-home field journal.
Students will travel by bus to and from the Field of Mars Reserve in East Ryde. Students will leave school at 8:45am and return to school at 3:00pm and are asked to bring their own recess, lunch and water bottles with them in their black Kambala excursion bags.
Please note no canteen lunches will be available on this date for Year 4.
On this excursion, students should wear their full sport uniform, including their hat, house polo, long track pants and zip jacket (fleeces may only be worn under zip jackets). Please pack a raincoat in case of inclement weather. Students should apply sunscreen prior to arriving at school.
One parent volunteer from each class is required for this excursion. Please email juniorstudentservices@kambala.nsw.edu.au if you would like to assist. Year 2 Excursion - Vaucluse House - Monday 25 August 2025
Year 2 students have been studying ‘Changes in Technology’ as part of their Term 3 History unit of work.
On Monday 25 August, students will take part in an excursion to Vaucluse House. This excursion will concentrate on what life was like, at Vaucluse House, in the 1860s for the Wentworth family and their servants. Working as history detectives, they will investigate the bedrooms, kitchen, drawing room, scullery, and kitchen garden for clues that help them understand how a grand mansion functioned in the 1860s. As well as exploring the house and estate, students will participate in a range of activities to get ‘hands-on’ with the past.
Parents will be forwarded all information over the coming week including uniform requirements as well as a permission slip which must be completed as soon as possible.
Postponement of Massie House Sports Afternoon Wet Weather Date Confirmed - Thursday 28 August 2025
Due to the current oval conditions combined with the weather forecast for the rest of today and parts of tomorrow, we have made the decision to further postpone the Massie House Sports Afternoon designated to take place on Friday 8 August 2025.
The new date ascertained in the Kambala calendar is Thursday 28 August 2025. We look forward to welcoming you then for what promises to be a wonderful afternoon of community and House spirit.

Taikoz Japanese Drumming Incursion - Monday 1 September 2025
We are excited to announce that Taikoz, the renowned Japanese drumming group, will be visiting our school on Monday 1 September 2025 to run interactive workshops with students from Kindergarten to Year 5. This unique experience will give students the opportunity to explore the art of traditional Taiko drumming, rhythm, and movement in a fun and engaging way. We look forward to the energy and cultural learning this special event will bring!
