Principal's Message

Prayer for Calm and Focus

Loving God,

We thank You for the gift of stillness and peace.

Bless our teachers as they learn new ways to guide our children in calm and focus.

Help our students to find quiet moments in their day,

so they may grow in patience, kindness, and understanding.

May the practice of mindfulness open their hearts

to learning and strengthen our whole community in love and care.

Amen.

Meditation: Staff Closure Day

Next week on Friday, our staff will be taking part in a closure day focused on meditation and mindfulness. This day will give teachers the chance to explore practical techniques and strategies that can be used in the classroom to support our students’ wellbeing and learning.

Meditation is more than just quiet time – it helps children to develop focus, regulate emotions, and build resilience. By giving students the tools to calm their minds, we create a learning environment where they feel safe, centred, and ready to engage.

This professional learning is part of our Annual Action Plan and reflects our ongoing commitment to nurturing both the academic and emotional growth of every child. By equipping our staff with these skills, we hope to give students lifelong strategies for managing stress, improving concentration, and building positive habits for their wellbeing.

We look forward to sharing the benefits of this work with our students in the weeks ahead.

Thank you for your support in having this second closure day this term. As we previously advised we had to move the date to next week to accommodate the availability of our presenter.

Next week will be a big one for our school community. Alongside our staff closure day, we are very excited for our special Father’s Day Morning as well as putting the final practices for our school production of Mary Poppins. Both of these events are wonderful opportunities to celebrate the talents of our students and the strength of our community.

You’ll find more information about these upcoming events in this newsletter.

Regards,

Brian Martin
