Learning and Teaching

Term 4 has begun with a sense of excitement. Our Unit 3 & 4 students are fully immersed in their SWOT VAC revision programs as they prepare for final VCAA Examinations.

For all other year levels, attention now turns to final assessments, revision for upcoming examinations, 2026 subject allocations, and preparations for the new academic year, which officially begins with Step Up on Tuesday, 18 November.

2026 Subject Allocations

Over the coming weeks, students will receive their 2026 subject allocations. Our aim is to ensure that every student engages in a balanced program that reflects their individual learning pathway while also providing access to the broad range of opportunities our curriculum offers.

To preserve this breadth, some classes may be combined. These decisions are made in consultation with Learning Leaders to ensure subjects remain viable in future years.

While we make every effort to accommodate student and cohort preferences, a small number of students may be placed in one or more of their reserve subject choices. In rare cases where timetable constraints have created challenges, we have worked directly with affected students and families to identify suitable alternatives.

We understand that students' interests and pathways may change over time. Therefore, there will be an opportunity to request subject changes. Requests can be submitted via the subject change form available in the CLC. All changes will be considered based on subject availability.

We also congratulate the students who have been approved to accelerate in their studies—a reflection of their dedication and commitment to learning. In some cases, timetable limitations have prevented allocation to a preferred accelerated subject. These students are encouraged to use the subject change process to explore other options, and we wish to reassure them that this does not prevent selection of the subject in 2027.

Year level-based communication regarding Semester 2 Examinations will be sent to families shortly.
