Year 9

'Connection to self, school & community'

Welcome back to Term 4. It has been fantastic to see all year 9 students back to finish off what has been an action-packed year. You will read below there are some fantastic activities happening to end the year. Make sure you are listening to the announcements in Homegroup to stay up to date with all of the activities coming up.

City Experience

Year 9 City Experience is running on the following dates:

  • 10 -11 November - Classes 9.1 - 9.7
  • 12-13 November - Classes 9.8 - 9.13

The highly anticipated City Experience is only two weeks away. Students are set to hit the CBD and enjoy the sights and sounds of Melbourne. Students will be engaging in Mr Bowen’s Amazing Race around the city, visiting the sights and completing challenges to win a prize. There is also an opportunity for students to complete activities of choice in the city, connecting the learning that has been occurring in classrooms with the outside world.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experiential learning and for students to connect with their peers outside of the classroom, reflecting on themselves as people and as members of the community. It will be amazing to see our year 9 cohort representing themselves and the school with pride throughout the program.

Students will be connecting to the Year 9 theme of ‘Connection to School, Self and Community’ throughout the program and the Year 9 team is very excited to share this experience with everyone.

Celebration of Achievement Night

The Year 9 Celebration of Achievement night is coming up on the 26 of November. Further details are to come but it is set to be a night that celebrates the work that has been completed in the Year 9 space this year. This night will be a feature of the Year 9 calendar for years to come.

Year 9 Homegroup Competition – Term 4

Ms Lloyd’s Homegroup Competition is in full swing with the ‘Race to find Mr Boland and Mr Bowen’ being a huge success this week. Keep an eye out and ask your homegroup teachers about the activities happening in Homegroup. Remember that every single challenge earns points for your homegroup so make them count.

New Equipment C1s

Mr Boland is so excited that the new balls and sports equipment has arrived in C1s. Now that the weather is getting better make sure you pop in at lunch and grab some cricket stumps and a bat and make the most of your lunchtime.
