News from Bexley our school Well-Being Dog

Welcome to Term 4 everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday, I know I did! I enjoyed long walks with Miss Dullard, digging in the soft sand at the beach, playing with my friends at the park, and I even have a new bed that I love resting on. I’m really excited to come back to school and see you all next week!

I’ve been practising not jumping up on visitors at home, and you can help me at school by listening to the adult holding my lead, staying calm around me, and never running or rushing towards me, as this can make me feel nervous.

When I’m at school, you can help me by learning how to understand dogs and what makes us feel safe. One important rule is: I need to sit first before anyone can interact with me, and only one person at a time should approach.

By following these rules, everyone stays calm, I can focus better, and play is safer and more fun for everyone. Overstimulated dogs find it harder to pay attention and respond to instructions, so your help really makes a difference!

I can’t wait to see you all next week!

Love from your school Wellbeing Dog, Bexley 🐶💛
