Dear Parents/Caregivers
It seems like its been a long time since our last newsletter but with all the forms of communication available we have still managed to make sure you are up to date with what's happening in and around school. Simon/PAM has had its challenges with a whole system shutdown but it shouldn't be long before we can begin using it again to log absences, have electronic permission forms and ultimately receive end of semester reports. If it happens to still be down in the last week of school we will print the reports for you (knowing that you will have an electronic copy when it is fixed).
With all the forms of communication available to parents I must admit I haven't had anyone come to me asking about the newsletter. Dojo, Facebook general, Facebook private, email, phone text, phone and in person are the ways we communicate at the moment. The introduction to the weekly preview on Facebook has been a welcomed addition as a quick and easy access to upcoming events for the week. If you have any feedback on how we can communicate more effectively please let me know.
Well it seems like ages since the very successful fete and a huge thank you must go out to all the parents, staff and students who helped. $7500 was raised. But more importantly it was another way to be a visible part of our community and to promote the amazing things we do here at St Joseph's. The feedback from members of the community was so positive. There are still a few containers from the cake stall that haven't been picked up yet. Please check in the admin kitchen if they are yours.
As you would be aware roadworks have begun in Church Street. Please be careful when dropping off or picking up your child/ren.
Our last pupil free day is Friday 5th December when staff will be planning for the 2026 year. Uniting have another great day of activities planned if you are in need of care on that day. Holiday care will also be available. Please see Rose or Sam for these dates.
This Friday 28th November is our school Athletics Day which will be held at Nagambie Rec Reserve. A permission form will go home tomorrow. The program will begin at 9.40 and conclude by 2pm. Lunch orders will still take place on this day. Parents are most welcome to attend. A big thank you to Clare for helping with the set up of the equipment (also thanks to Little Aths for the loan). If there are any parents free to help on one of the activities it would be greatly appreciated. Students may come dressed in their house colour (red for Malachy and green for Mackillop) if they wish.
A letter will go home this week detailing some of the upcoming events so you are well informed of what's happening at this busy time of the year.
As always, I am available for any conversations, feedback, suggestions that will improve our great school. My door is always open.
There are no classroom reports in the newsletter this week as staff have been very busy writing reports.
Have a wonderful week.
