Our Vision

Each child has a gift or talent. It is our job to find it and to show it to them.

Our Mission

Identify the talent, develop the confidence and create the leader.

What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other?

Dear Parents and Carers,

The past two weeks at Le Page Primary School have been filled with joy, music, colour, and connection, a true celebration of our vibrant school community. Grandparents and Special Friends Day was a wonderful success, bringing together students, families, and special visitors for a morning of shared learning and laughter. Classrooms were buzzing with pride as students showed their grandparents and special friends their work, classrooms, and learning spaces. It was a warm reminder of the powerful partnerships that enrich our students’ school experience.

The Peter Combe concert was another highlight, filling our hall with music, laughter, and pure excitement. Students sang along to old favourites with infectious enthusiasm, and the joy on their faces said it all. It was a delight to welcome such an iconic Australian children’s performer to Le Page and to see the community come together to celebrate music and creativity.

Our Colour Fun Run capped off the fortnight in spectacular style! The event was a burst of energy and colour as students, families, and staff came together to run, walk, and dance their way through the course. It was a wonderful celebration of teamwork, fitness, and fun — and a fantastic way to strengthen our community spirit.

During the week, a team of leaders from Network Schools visited Le Page to observe our morning start-up routine across all classrooms. They joined us as students began their day with roll call, the Acknowledgement of Country, the reading of their class mission statement, and reflection on collective goals and targets before moving into explicit language teaching. The visiting leaders were impressed by the consistency, purpose, and student ownership evident in every classroom. They also provided thoughtful and constructive feedback, which will help us continue refining and strengthening our daily practices.

Looking ahead, the excitement is building as we prepare for a major milestone in our school’s journey — The Leader in Me Lighthouse Accreditation Day on Monday, November 10. This important review will see panel members visiting from both the USA and New South Wales, as they assess our progress and practices in embedding The Leader in Me framework across the school. Staff and students are working hard to showcase the ways leadership, collaboration, and the 7 Habits are lived every day at Le Page Primary School.

This week, we have focused on Habit 3 – Put First Things First.

This habit is all about learning to do the most important things first. It reminds us to finish our schoolwork, help at home, and look after ourselves before we play or relax.

When we put first things first, we:

  • Plan our time wisely so we don’t feel rushed.
  • Stay focused on our goals.
  • Make good choices about what needs to be done now and what can wait.
  • Find balance between work, fun, and rest.

Putting first things first helps us be responsible, organised, and calm—ready to do our best every day!

At Le Page Primary School, we believe every child has the potential to be a leader. Leadership is more than a badge or title, it’s about making good choices, showing initiative, and helping others succeed. Through The Leader in Me program, our students learn and live out Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, setting personal and class goals each term and working together to achieve them. These habits help our students take charge of their learning, think positively, and build strong relationships. Each semester, our Student Lighthouse Representatives are elected by their peers to represent their classes. They meet to plan fundraising projects, school beautification ideas, and special events like Science Day — giving students a real voice in shaping their school community. We are proud to see leadership shining in every classroom, in the yard, and beyond. At Le Page, every student has the opportunity to lead, learn, and make a difference!

“True leadership isn’t about being in charge, it is about inspiring others to believe in themselves, act with purpose, and grow into leaders too.”

Have a great long weekend everyone.
