Child Safety Policy - Student Version

Today our school leaders and SRC met to write a student version of our schools Child Safety Policy.

We discussed:

  • what makes your feel safe at school?
  • who can you talk to if you don't feel safe?
  • what are some things everyone can do to help others feel safe?

The goal was to generate student ideas for what the policy should say and look like.

Each group collaborated to come up with ideas and statements around:

  • Being safe - what does safety look, sound and feel like?
  • Speaking up - who can we tell? How do we ask for help?
  • Online safety - what should we remember when we are online?
  • Looking after each other  - what can we do if someone else isn't safe.
  • Respect - our responsibility to respect and include others

The Student Version of the Child Safety Policy policy will be presented to Mr Schinck and the Leadership Team in the coming weeks. The final document will be on our school website and in our classrooms and will be reviewed regularly.
