Anzac Day Classroom Activities K-6
Our school recently came together for a meaningful day of learning and reflection to commemorate ANZAC Day. Students began by exploring the history and significance of the occasion, building a shared understanding of why it is so important to remember.
The 3–6 class then partnered with K–2 students to create presentations on key moments in the ANZAC timeline. It was wonderful to see older students supporting their younger peers as they worked collaboratively and shared their learning.
A highlight of the day was making ANZAC biscuits—always a favourite—which turned out deliciously! Our Little Starts Transition students also got involved in the baking! Students created striking suncatchers using cellophane and soldier silhouettes, producing thoughtful artwork to honour the day.
Before lunch we held a short liturgy, where our school captain, Ellie, respectfully laid a wreath, and our senior students read out prayers. We concluded our day with a music lesson exploring the bugle and the significance of the “Rouse” and “Reveille.” It was a rich and respectful day of remembrance for all involved.
