P.E Auslan STEAM

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

To finish off our super semester, all grades loved a 'student choice' lesson where students had the chance to choose their favourite games to play. We discussed the importance of our school value 'Teamwork' when participating in our games ensuring that all students provided each other with positive feedback and encouragement.

LOTE - AUSLAN

Similarly to our PE sessions, our final junior LOTE lessons involved playing a variety of games focusing on the Auslan alphabet and number recognition.

Our middle/senior grades have created a shopping list involving different foods. Next term students will be practicing signing about their shopping list including how much each object is and how much money they will need to purchase all items.

STEAM: Science, Technology & The Arts

It has been a busy few weeks with finishing off our STEAM projects!

Junior school students learned about Earth’s resources, including water, soil and minerals. We then looked into the types of soil, one of which being clay, and created clay pots inspired by the work of Australian artist Pete Cromer. Students did a fantastic job with clay and painting techniques. The 1/2s learned how to score, add ‘clay glue’ and blend to join pieces of clay together.

Middle and senior school have been finishing their video games for the Australian STEM Video Game challenge. They used Scratch and did a fantastic job at brainstorming ideas for their games and bringing them to life with creative digital drawings.
