Wow! I am thrilled to share the wonderful success of our recent Book Swap event held at school. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our students and parents, we not only fostered a love of reading among our students but also raised an impressive $521 for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
The atmosphere during the Book Swap was fabulous. Your donations of books and enthusiastic participation in purchasing books made all the difference. Every book swapped and every dollar raised contributes directly to promoting literacy among Indigenous children in remote communities across Australia. It was wonderful to see the joy of reading and the community spirit that thrives within our school.
A reminder to all students participating in the Premier's Reading Challenge that the deadline for logging your books is fast approaching. The challenge will close on Friday, August 23, 2024. It's important for students to ensure they have logged all their completed books online to successfully complete the challenge.
The Premier's Reading Challenge is a fantastic opportunity for our students to explore new books, and strengthen their reading skills. I encourage students to keep up the great work and continue logging their books online. If you have any questions or need assistance with logging books, please don't hesitate to contact me or visit the Premier's Reading Challenge website.
Save the Date: Book Week Parade on Thursday, August 22!
Our annual Book Week Parade is just around the corner and will take place on Thursday 22 August, during Week 5 of Term 3.
The Book Week Parade is a wonderful opportunity for children to showcase their creativity and love of reading by dressing up as their favorite book characters. Whether they choose a beloved hero, a magical creature, or a character from a classic tale, we can't wait to see their imaginative costumes!
Parents are warmly invited to join us for this special occasion and cheer on our young readers as they parade their costumes. Let's make this Book Week Parade a memorable and magical experience for everyone involved!
Happy Reading!
