Winter Weather and clothing
Winter and rainy weather are here to stay. Although on days of rain, wet day timetables are called, slips and trips happen. Please consider packing a spare set of socks as well as pants, skirt/skort or leggings for your child. Accidents can occur, and it is always good to be prepared.
Camps, Camps and even Day Camps
We are lucky that we are still able to facilitate student camps at Kalinda Primary School.
Forms and medical lists have been sent home, and are also linked to the particular event on Compass. Please think carefully about what items you pack - do not send anything that could be damaged, or lost. Warm but practical is the best. Please label everything - including shoes, toiletry bags, sleeping bag and all items of clothing.
During the Holidays
We know that our families love to use our facilities and grounds during the holidays.
Just a reminder that dogs should remain on lead, at all times, and to pick up all dog poo and dispose of it when you leave. There will be no bins left out, please take any rubbish with you.
Any damaging or dangerous behaviour needs to be reported to the Police. Please ensure that you are safe to do so. Ringwood Police phone number is 9871 3000

Payment plans and different payment options
Do you ever find that Compass doesn’t cater for the payment option that would suit your family? If this is the case, please contact us and let us know via a confidential email to kalinda.ps@education.vic.gov.au.
There are lots of different payment options available, but Compass limits us to offering one option to all families. If paying for an event over several weeks, or in smaller payments, suits your circumstances better, we are happy to make this available to you.

Scholarship details
Scholarships support students and families to assist with the cost of education and engagement in further study at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.
Scholarships are available for students:
- studying in Victoria and who are citizens or permanent residents of Australia
- enrolled in Years 4-11
- enrolled in Year 12 who plan on undertaking tertiary studies.
Scholarships are awarded to students who can demonstrate:
- excellent academic achievement
- Participation in school and local community activities
- financial need as determined by the parent or carer receiving a Centrelink income support payment, or the student themselves receiving the Youth Allowance.

Authority for another person to pick up your child
Occasionally families will have the need for someone else to pick up their child. For the safety of your child, please complete the attached letter, and contact the office so we can let staff be aware. The form used is a template from the Department of Education and will remain in the school archives.
Primary School children are unable to leave the grounds, before 3.30 pm by themselves.

Please note that the form regarding your child's swimming ability is attached to the Compass post. You can access it through the resource tab in Compass, under that event.
There is no cost to this event, but permission must be given.
Grade 4 Camp medical and medication form - due now
Grade 3 Wombat Corner Camp Balance due - before Friday 21st June
Highland Dancing 2024 Consent/Payment- before Friday 28th June
Grade 2 Day Camp experience deposit and consent - please contact office as the event is closed.
