In our Garden

Cubbies!

Over the last two weeks our grades F-4 have tested their team work and construction skills to build cubbies or temporary shelters during garden time.  Each team was given a set of materials and needed to work together to construct a simple structure that would fit their team. It was very impressive to see the range of designs and how well students self- organised.

Working bee thanks!

There was a great turn-out on Sunday with 23 helpers moving and spreading the softfall, tidied and weeded garden beds. Sidney and Milla went around the school picking up rubbish. Elton worked hard shovelling softfall. Biogro donated a ute load of bagged compost- thank you Nigel for organising that!

Big thanks to our P&F group for organising the working bee.

Fires and Safety

Senior grade students may have come home smelling of wood smoke this week as we had a fire safety session. We discussed how to safely make a camp fire, what clothes are best to wear and what safety precautions to take.  We also had a chance to share a few of our own stories.  Thank you everyone for behaving responsibly, it was a fun activity to share.

No Gardening sessions with Sara for the last week of term though class teachers may organise their own activities.

Have a warm and safe school holidays everyone!
