School Attendance

Thank you all for your commitment to school attendance this term. In our leadership meeting yesterday we explored some data which was pleasing to review and analyse.

St Mary’s is aspiring for an average of 95% across the school but are very pleased with the positive trend that we have managed to uphold across a long term. Next term we will share this information on a more regular basis so we are aware of our growth and promote some facts and figures around attendance. We understand that families have momentous moments and family holidays that alter our attendance, but all in all we are tracking in a wonderful direction.

Ensuring regular school attendance is important for your child's educational success and future opportunities. Consistent attendance helps children build a strong foundation for learning, establish routines, and develop social skills that are essential for their overall development. Each day missed can mean lost learning and the potential for your child to fall behind. We are committed to working in partnership with parents to promote regular attendance and address any issues that may arise. By attending school every day, our learners benefit from the full educational experience, leading to a more positive and successful future.

Parents play a key role in supporting their child's school attendance. It is important to notify the school of any absences and provide a reasonable excuse, such as illness or a family emergency. Our school records attendance twice daily and follows up on unexplained absences to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed. Your cooperation and communication with the school are vital in helping us maintain high attendance rates and fostering a productive learning environment for all students.
