Mrs Mellissa Bell

Dear Families and Carers,

We are almost at the end of Semester 1, 2024. We have come together many times over the past two terms to celebrate our community, the talents of our young people and to have a sense of friendly rivalry. Our Yr 12 cohort are busy preparing for the last term of formal education, their last formal assessments and beginning to consider their options for life after graduation. They are fundraising for their formal and for the traditional gift presented to the College at their graduation assembly. Our Yr 10 students on the other hand are in the process of considering all their options moving beyond compulsory education; a HSC pathway or ATAR, or TAFE. It is an exciting time for many.

This week we welcomed the Message Stick into our school. The Message Stick has travelled across our diocese as we prepare for the Catholic Schools NSW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Conference held in October. We began this week with a Welcome Assembly, as our students entered the gym they were offered the opportunity to engage in a smoking ceremony. On Thursday we then engaged in a series of learning house activities, led by our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. I would like to acknowledge the efforts of this team of students, they really took this opportunity to share culture with such pride.

As we end this term and begin to prepare for next term, could I please ask all parents and carers to support the College expectations around uniform. Sports uniform is ONLY to be worn on days where OVAL is marked on the timetable. Our senior students do not wear a sports uniform unless directed to by their fitness/SLR or PDHPE teacher. Doc Marten boots are not acceptable school footwear and students should not be wearing joggers daily with their uniform. We have had a huge number of girls not wearing a tie as well. If you need to replace parts of the uniform, please contact the front office to make an appointment for the uniform shop.

Please take time to enjoy the upcoming holidays.

Warm Regards,

Mrs Mellissa Bell
