Student Learning Culture and Growth

As we approach the final two weeks of this term, we are excited to welcome the commencement of a new semester at our college. Over the past weeks, our Year 10 students have had the opportunity to engage in positive work experience placements, gaining valuable insights and skills for their potential future careers. Our Year 9 students are also embarking on an exciting journey as they begin their new electives, exploring diverse subjects that will broaden their horizons and ignite new passions. We look forward to seeing the continued growth and achievements of all our students in the coming weeks and beyond.
Congratulations to all our Senior Students for successfully sitting the Victorian General Achievement Test (GAT). We appreciate the perseverance and commitment demonstrated by our students in undertaking the GAT exam, along with other recent exams and assessments. This is an opportunity to reflect on your learning and challenge your knowledge and ability to solve complex problems. We are incredibly proud of each one of you for reaching this significant stage in your academic journey. Best of luck as you continue to strive for excellence in your studies!
Learning Enrichment and Advancement Program (LEAP) Challenge Day
During May, our students had the opportunity to engage in the Learning Enrichment and Advancement Program (LEAP) Challenge Day. The LEAP program is designed for those who require extension beyond the classroom and offers a variety of opportunities for students to explore their passions and participate in academic challenges. In addition to our continued focus on targeted teaching to foster academic growth for all students, LEAP provides a platform for our most motivated learners to push their boundaries and thinking.
Our LEAP Staff facilitation team was impressed with the student engagement throughout the day and their utilisation of problem-solving skills to test their newly acquired knowledge. Students appreciated the day working with like-minded peers to solve problems and challenge their thinking.
2025 Subject Selection Process
At the commencement of Term 3, Year 9 & 10 students will be required to book a compulsory Subject Selection Interview, to be held at the College during early August. This provides the opportunity for all students and their families to engage in the subject selection process to assist students in selecting subjects that meet their learning needs, as well as the potential needs for students who already have career or further study pathways in mind. Further information regarding these interviews will be forwarded to both the students and their parents/carers at the commencement of Term 3. The recently released Subject Selection Handbook can be found on SIMON, within the School Links – Student Academic Information.
