Dear Parents and Guardians,

This week our Year 11 and 12 students have been actively involved in completing midyear exams. I commend all students who have put in a significant amount of work leading into the exam period.  Students undertaking a Unit 3/4 subject have also had an opportunity to participate in GAT workshops in preparation for the upcoming GAT on Tuesday, 18th June, 2024.

A reminder for all parents and guardians that next Tuesday 11th June, 2024 we are having a Year 10 into 11 Information Evening held at Red Cliffs Secondary College Lecture Theatre from 6:00pm-7:00pm. The session will provide information for parents and students to support subject choices leading into VCE/VCE-VM/ VET in 2025. Red Cliffs Secondary College Senior School Handbook has been updated and is now available on our school website and will be distributed in hard copy at our information evening.

Year 10 into 11 Course Confirmation Interviews will take place on Tuesday, 25th June, 2024. On this day there will be no regular classes for year 10 students to allow time for their interview. This provides a great opportunity for students to work with parents/guardians and staff members to plan subjects and career pathway options for their remaining years of secondary education. It is expected that all students are accompanied by a parent/guardian to support your child in subject selection for 2025. Parents can now book an interview time with select staff members though COMPASS.

As we move closer to the end of Term 2, we have a few key events taking place. On Thursday, 20th June, 2024 we have a school Curriculum and Professional Development Day. This will be a student free day.  Week 11 will commence NAIDOC Week here at Red Cliffs Secondary College where we are very much looking forward to hosting many great activities throughout the week to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Island peoples.

In closing I would like to wish you a happy and safe long weekend.
