Happy Friday Mitcham Primary School Community!
I am excited to share some wonderful highlights from our school over the past fortnight!
Firstly, our Grade 5/6 camp was a resounding success! We ventured to an incredible new venue in Kyneton where our students had an unforgettable experience. I want to extend a huge thank you to all the students who participated with such enthusiasm, embracing challenging activities that took them out of their comfort zone. From the thrilling ‘Leap of Faith’ and a blindfolded sensory walk to the adrenaline-pumping abseiling, your energy made the camp truly memorable.
We also celebrated some outstanding achievements in cross country. Congratulations to Linkhon, Indi, and Lucia for their incredible efforts in making it to the Regional Level. They raced this week at Yarra Glen in true cross country conditions, showcasing remarkable determination and sportsmanship. A special shoutout to Linkon for his brilliant run, earning him a spot in the State Cross Country event in July. Well done to all!
We also had a fantastic turnout for Thursday night's Fathering Project Mini Olympics! It was heartening to see so many of our male role models join in the fun and show their support. The event was a hit, and we trialed several new potential Olympic sports, including cup stacking and coin flick finger soccer. The enthusiasm and participation of everyone involved truly made the evening special.
Tonight, our Grade 3 Montessori students are in for an exciting treat with a special evening planned at school. They will be having a sleepover and participating in the Star Lab astronomy experience, which promises to be both educational and fun. I am sure it will be a night to remember for our young astronomers.
I would also like to remind all parents with children starting prep next year to enrol as soon as possible. Early enrolment helps us ensure we have the best resources and support ready for your child's start at Mitcham Primary School. Please contact the office if you need any assistance with the enrolment process.
Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in our school community.
Warmly,
Erin
