Ride/Walk 2 School

On Monday morning this week, our School participated in a Healthy Moves Beyond Bank event which saw 114 students (60 Junior School & 54 Senior School) enjoy their active transport mode to arrive at school. We even had some Grandparents riding their bikes while directing their grandchildren on their bikes. As you can see from the photo, the bike shed was practically full.

At Lunchtime, Sophia Ngo from Beyond Bank came to King’s College to draw out two names from the participants to receive a $100 gift voucher courtesy of this community bank and to promote a healthy and sustainable way to start the day. Jonathan G (Year 9) and Mosese T (Year 3) were the names drawn out.

Thank you for your participation and be encouraged to continue this activity even with winter approaching.

Cybersafety Talk

On Monday 13 May, our Year 4 to 6 students received a Cybersafety talk from Leading Senior Constables Brooke and John, Youth Resource Officers from the Warrnambool Police Community Engagement unit.

The session spoke about the importance of how to be safe and respectful with your online behaviour, and what to do and who to talk to if things go wrong online, as online bullying is against the law.

The discussion was very interactive and included this video from the eSafety education video library resource, which was shown during the talk. This website is very helpful and a wonderful resource to find information to discuss as a family.

Recently, Focus on the Family (USA) broadcast a discussion called Becoming Screen Savvy as a Family which you may also like to listen to here.
