Real Pigeons Visit

On Tuesday 21st May, Seymour College opened its doors to Real Pigeons and Hello Twigs author and illustrator Andrew McDonald and Ben Wood. Throughout the day, they ran workshops with all primary students, explaining their process for creating the popular series, how long it took them to write and illustrate each book and how they developed each of the characters.

Andrew and Ben spent time teaching students how to draw a pigeon, how to turn an everyday object, like a twig, into a character, and how to turn those characters into a story.

All students created amazing pigeon pictures and had a fantastic time with Ben and Andrew! Many staff commented how lovely it was to hear the students laughing all day and how the kids were so excited when they got back to class.

Origami Fun

Over the last few weeks, year 7 student Tyler has been teaching students how to make Origami cranes. They have created so many beautiful cranes that will soon hang proudly in the secondary library.
