LEARNING AND TEACHING

Report Structure

Progression Points on our new reporting platform:

In both Semester 1 and 2 reports, students are assigned a progression point. The purpose of the progression points is to assist teachers in making on-balance, holistic judgments about student progress towards the standards.

When a student is working 6 months below their expected level, they are still considered to be ‘at standard’ as they are steadily working towards the standard.  At times students can be plotted above standard, meaning that they are working on more difficult concepts at the next level of the Victorian Curriculum. Students can grow at different stages and at different rates and we can sometimes see a student ‘sustained’ at a particular level. Often students need time to consolidate their learning when they are working above the expected level therefore although continuing to grow, this may not be reflected in their progression point and is not a cause for concern.
