Saturday 22nd June - Sacrament of First Eucharist - Sacred Heart Church Boggabri - 4:00pm
Dear Lord,
We thank You and praise You for the most precious gift of the Holy Eucharist. We ask You to bless all those who are preparing to receive Your Body and Blood for the first time.
You have provided for us richly through the gift of Your Body and Blood in the Eucharist. Receiving the Holy Eucharist is a tremendous blessing, and we ask You to help even young children to prepare well before receiving You.
Help us to grow in love for You every day of our lives. Help us to always appreciate the great gifts You have given us for our salvation.
Lord, hear our prayers.
Catholic Schools Week is a time to celebrate and reflect on the value and contributions of Catholic education. It is an opportunity for us to reflect upon our positive impact as educators on the lives of the young people in our care.
Here is a video package reflecting our interactions during Catholic Schools Week, with the theme 'Pray with Hope'.
Thank you to the Good For Kids team for coming to our School to share the Smoothie Bike with us. We look forward to the Smoothie Bike's return later in the year for a longer period so children can make their own smoothie creations.
Thank you also to Boggabri Coal for inviting us to participate in the Tree-Planting experience. We had a wonderful time and feel privileged to have been a part of such a wonderful environmental initiative.
The feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus points us to God’s love, which we can see in Jesus’ kindness and care. The solemnity is celebrated on the second Friday following Trinity Sunday. This year, it was celebrated on June 7th.
We celebrated with a whole school Liturgy, followed by an opportunity for our students to respond to God's Word from the Bible passage shared during the Liturgy (A reading from the letter of St Paul to the Ephesians 3:14-19). The children's response tasks are visible in the front foyer, so please come in to have a look.
