Climate Change Education Forum

During Term Two our Dunhelen and Brookhill Sustainability Captains were invited to participate in the Climate Change Education Forum, hosted by Sustainability Victoria’s ResourceSmart Schools and Dekin University’s Centre for Regenerative Futures. The purpose of the forum was to ascertain the gaps for young people and educators in their understanding of climate adaptation and resilience and what solutions they might have ‘for living a happy and healthy life in a climate altered future’.

Cows Create Careers

Over the last three weeks, through the Cows Create Careers program, Year 10 Agriculture and horticulture students have learned about dairy industry careers in a very hands-on way as they reared and cared for two three-week old calves. The students learned how to care for the calves and demonstrate skills such as animal husbandry, feeding and weighing. The project highlights the diversity of skills and professional careers within Australia’s vibrant dairy industry and highlights the range of university, vocational and professional pathways within the industry itself.
