Have a go at our Erase game below:

For 2 to 4 players, you need:

Seven 10-sided dice, a cup OR playing cards with values 0-10 (ace = 1, Q = 0)

Calculators

How to play:

Players take turns rolling 7 dice or turning over 7 cards, adding the 7 numbers to get their score. If players find combinations of 10 (e.g. 3 and 7), those numbers are “erased” and not counted in the score. The player with the lowest total wins.

Example: a player rolls 2,4,5,6,5,8,9,3,6,2. They pair 2 & 8, 4& 6, 5 & 5. They are left with 6,9,3,2 which gives them a total score of 20. (Students may use a calculator to get their score once they have found their combinations of 10.)

Variations:

Change the sum to 7 and use regular dice. Designate a wild card (such as the Jack or King) so that more pairs can be made.

Or try the "First to 20" game:

For each group of two to four players, you need:

  • One die
  • One piece of paper & pencil per player.
  • How to Play:
  • The goal of the game is to be the first player to reach 20 - exactly.
  • Players take turns to roll the die & write down their first number.
  • On each subsequent turn, players must roll the die & add the number to their previous score.
  • If the roll will take them over 20, they must subtract the number rolled.
  • The game ends when one player has an exact score of 20.
