Exciting news!!
St Brendan’s won first prize for the BEST BASKET OF PRODUCE GROWN BY A SCHOOL GARDEN at the Red Hill Show.
Last Friday, Mrs Taranto and Mrs Coggin returned from the staff conference in the city, to pick our produce to be entered in the Red Hill Show. All produce had to be delivered to the Red Hill Showgrounds between 3pm and 5pm, so we had to work very quickly. The basket of produce had to contain at least 15 items which could include vegetables, fruit and herbs.
We also entered the best pumpkin, marrow and 6 cherry tomatoes. Our pumpkin received a Highly Commended award which we were also very proud of as the competition was excellent. Ezra Calabrese in Year 1/2 entered his own homegrown pumpkin in the Best Pumpkin category and he won second prize. Well done Ezra!
The winning ribbons are on display in the front entrance foyer.
