LOOK WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING IN AUSLAN AT MPHPS
Hello everyone,
We had another great fortnight in the Auslan classroom. It’s so good to see students practising the signs they have learnt and being enthusiastic about their learning.
SIGNS OF THE WEEK
Don’t forget to ask your child to show you some of the AUSLAN signs they have been learning. In the last fortnight we have been revising many signs that we learnt last year. The signs of the week are: ‘sport', ‘basketball’ & ‘soccer.’
IN THE CLASSROOM
Years 3 – Students have been practising signing the Auslan Alphabet and signing their names. They have also been learning to count from 0-20 in in Auslan.
Year 4 – Students have been learning signs related to hobbies and interests in Auslan.
Year 5 – Students have been learning signs related to sports and recreation in Auslan.
Year 6 – Students have been learning signs related to Time in Auslan.
- Auslan has its own grammar and vocabulary. It does not follow English sentence structure.
