Professional Learning at NMPS

From Sarah Nightingale, Principal

Professional Learning at NMPS

Behind the scenes our staff are continuously learning and developing professionally. Our staff meet twice a week, either before or after school to participate in professional learning. Professional learning is centred around our 2025 Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) - see below - and generally happens in Professional Learning Teams (PLTs), Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and Communities of Practices (CoPs). Our staff also learn a lot from and with each other through Peer Observations.

Over the year we will have a number of staff involved in external professional development, including the Department of Education’s Professional Learning opportunities. At NMPS we believe it is important that our teachers are supported in their professional learning and growth. Therefore, you may find sometimes your child’s teacher is replaced by a Casual Relief Teacher (CRT) or split while they are participating in professional learning throughout the day.
