As we enter the Autumn season, we are reminded of the changing rhythms in nature, which mirror the cycles of our lives. This report highlights the values of harmony and diversity that are central to our school’s ethos, and how we are honouring these principles through key events like Harmony Week next week.

Seasonal Reflection

As the weather cools, we turn our attention to the land around us. Autumn invites reflection as nature prepares for the months ahead. In line with our seasonal curriculum, early childhood children will participate in hands-on activities like butter-making and bread-grinding. These tasks not only teach practical skills but also help children connect to the land and understand where our food comes from.

Our primary classes also incorporate the season’s themes into their learning:

  • Class 5: Students are studying botany, focusing on how plants adapt to changing seasons. They will learn about local desert flora and the importance of ecosystems, reinforcing our commitment to environmental stewardship.
  • Class 6: Students are exploring Medieval history, looking at cultural changes and the diversity of people from different regions. This study helps students understand how cultural differences shaped our world, providing valuable insights into today’s global context.

These activities are grounded in the lessons we learn from nature—resilience, adaptation, and interconnectedness.

Community Involvement

We encourage families to actively participate in school events that promote unity and inclusivity, such as the Farm Garden, Autumn Fair, Parent Craft Group, or working bees. Your involvement strengthens our community and enriches the learning experience for all students. The school’s success depends on the collective efforts of parents, teachers, and students.

Quote for Reflection

"True harmony is the result of the individual growing in connection with the whole."Rudolf Steiner

The actions we take, both at school and at home, contribute to the greater harmony of our community. By fostering understanding, connection, and respect, we can continue to strengthen the unity that defines us.

We look forward to continuing this journey with you and your children, as we celebrate the richness of diversity and the natural rhythms that surround us.

Regards,

Dina
